Website Friday

Did you know there is a cool website, called "Channel One News" that is news for teens, by teens?!

It's pretty cool - they cover everything from Hurricane Sandy, to the election, to environmental issues, to the economy, and what happening in the Middle East...

It also covers fashion and fun, sports, music, college, and life!

Check it out -
And let me know what you think!

Follow

When we live as disciple of Jesus Christ, we gain more than we lose...

In Sunday School this week, we'll be talking about what it means to follow Jesus on our Journey of faith.

There are times when we want to follow Jesus, and do as our faith tradition tells us we should do...  But there are also times when it is so much easier to do what our friends, our media, and our desire for an easy way tells us...

Have you ever been in one of those situations?  Where peer pressure gets the best of you?
-Maybe you go along with something you know is wrong...
-Maybe you watch as someone gets bullied...
-Maybe a little white lie wouldn't hurt anything...
-Maybe you came across something online that you shouldn't have been looking at...

We all fall into behaviors that don't fit in with our Christian beliefs.  The trick is to recognize it, and turn away from it.  Turn to doing what we know is right, instead.

What can you do this week to follow God a little closer?
I'm going to work on finding time to pray - to ask God to help me follow more closely.
Can I pray for you, too?

PS:  Happy Birthday, Maggie!!!!!!
PPS:  Remember to set your clocks to "Fall Back" on Saturday night!

Happy Halloween!

A little Halloween trivia for you...

Thanks to those of you who helped with the UNICEF Carnival last Saturday!  What a fun day for the little kids!

This Sunday is "All Saints Day."  It is a chance to remember those we have lost and light a candle in their honor.  Communion will be served, too, making it a beautiful service.  If you're around, please join us for this special day!

Greetings!

Because I love you Youth, soooo much - I am going into a zone I never thought I would.

Twitter.

I've been avoiding it for a long time...  Thinking I could make it through this life without ever once "tweeting."

But recently, one of our own informed me that I needed to start.  Apparently, it's the new best way to keep in the loop - and to help you guys keep in the loop, too.

So, as I am learning this new way of communicating, I thought I'd also start a youth blog to keep us up-to-date on what's happening... As well as give you a space to read up on easy ways to live out your faith; share music, movies, and books that are inspiring you; and even start some easy discussions about faith - the comments section is open and ready for thoughts, ideas, questions, and input!

AND - if you have something you'd like to write about - the blog is open for your posts as well!  Just email me your written post and I'll put it on the site for you!

I'd love to see this become a place where we can share the faith journey together - even when we don't see each other every week.  We still can encourage, inspire, and lift one another up - even if it's from online.  I'm all about seeing where this can lead!

So may prayer for today?  That God can help me learn to "tweet" and open all of our hearts to new ways of seeing and experiencing God's love in our world!

What new things are you trying these days?
